LOVESPACE managing director Steve Folwell shared with the DailyMail:

“We raised £1.55million last year on Crowdcube, the biggest crowdfunding raise at that point, and that coincided with a huge surge in demand. It was an interesting time. We grew about 30 times in two months in spring 2014. We now have a 20,000 sq ft warehouse in Dunstable and we are no longer five people, we are 25.

“The customer base is mostly consumer, but we are doing a lot more with companies. We tend to serve growing, small firms in London. What we find is that we are enabling business mobility. We find ourselves acting as storage, but also as a logistics arm, so for firms who store stock and samples with us, we can send them on.”

Emily Bendell.jpgEmily Bendell founder of LOVESPACE customer BlueBella, explained:

“As a fashion brand we have masses of stuff. For a small and fast-growing business like ours, flexibility is everything. If something like this didn’t exist we would be buried in bras or would have to move to bigger premises.”

LOVESPACE is currently seeking to raise funds through JustGiving for cancer research. The company revealed:

“On the 27th September, the LOVESPACE team is out in force to help fundraise for Cancer Research. We’re putting on our best walking performance to WALK half a marathon (when we should be sleeping) around London. We hope our wider community will help us raise money towards this very important cause!”
