Building some more hype for its Kickstarter success, Floating Record, Chicago-based startup Gramovox announced that former President of the United States, Bill Clinton, had the opportunity to see the device in action.
Floating Record is described as a high-performance turntable that plays records vertically through built-in, dynamic, full-range stereo speakers (or through an RCA line out). Each Floating Record sits on a wood base and a belt connects from a small wheel to a platter, causing it to spin and create a great sound without any issues.
The Gramovox shared in a recent update:
“These are certainly exciting times at Gramovox. As we eagerly push forward in the production of the Floating Record, we never quite know what each day will bring, and last week we were honored by a visit from the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton!
“We knew that the former president was a jazz enthusiast, so we cued up some Miles Davis on the Floating Record to welcome him to 1871, Chicago’s premier tech startup community. Mr. Clinton exchanged a handshake and some warm words with our very own Pavan Bapu, expressing his love for vinyl and his enthusiasm for the Floating Record.
“It was a great pleasure to meet Mr. Clinton, and a true privilege to see him enjoy the product that we’ve put so much into!”
The company also announced details about the Floating Record shipping:
“A few of you have been asking about how to confirm your shipping address, so we’d like to clear up the process. Kickstarter has a system in which, after the Campaign has finished, the Project Creator sends out a survey via email. This survey allows you to enter your shipping information and confirm the rewards that you’ll be receiving. We’re only able to send out one survey, so we’ll be sending that out in the coming months, closer to the final shipping date. We know that things change and people move, so rather than getting shipping information early that may eventually need to be changed, we’ll hold off on getting that information until we’re ready to begin shipping.”
Estimated delivery for the Floating Record is December 2015.
