In one of India’s biggest crowdfunding success stories, smart gadget Exploride just wrapped up its abundantly funded crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, raising $521,546–512 percent of its original fundraising goal.
Exploride is a clear glass heads-up display with gesture and hands-free voice controls, designed to work with any auto for decreased driving distraction. It sits on your dashboard, allowing users to access music, maps, texts and calls from one central location–rather than obliging users to fumble for the appropriate device in a car’s countless nooks and crannies. The device has GPS, LTE and custom Google maps, and allows users to download maps up to 8GB of internal memory and use offline maps without a smartphone.
For those “Stuck in traffic 🙁 ” or “5 minutes away” texts, Exploride also offers hands-free calling and texting with its unique gesture and voice controls. The device’s built-in apps to manage social media allow users to receive live updates on the go, according to their preferences. In addition to keeping an eye on the latest likes for your photos from the weekend, Exploride comes with an onboard diagnostics II adaptor that displays information about your car’s speed, tire pressure, fuel status and fuel status, as well as access to readings from its tachometer and tripmeter.
The device also includes built-in microphones that let you isolate noise for superior call clarity and uninterrupted voice commands. Finally, the dash-cam records video of your street driving, in case that your trip to Grandma’s or the grocery store doesn’t go as smoothly as you planned.
Exploride founder Sunil Vallath was quoted in Tech In Asia as saying,
Crowdfunding was a great way to identify our customers. So far, we have received over 1,800 pre-orders from more than 50 countries.
Exploride is registered in the U.S.’s District of Columbia, and is being manufactured in Taiwan, with delivery expected in January of 2016, noted Tech In Asia.
