Offering up an update to backers of its recent Kickstarter project, Remix Mini, Jide Tech announced shipping details for the already popular Android PC.
The Beijing-based startup described Remix Mini as a simple to use computer that connects to any screen, keyboard and mouse, allowing users to use it as they would any other computer and browse the internet, download and watch videos, create documents, and run any Android app or game. It can even help anyone save up to 10% in energy costs when compared to traditional tower desktop PCs.
Jide Tech shared on Friday:
“Your Remix Minis are close. The future of Android PCs is going to be embarking on their journey to reach you soon. In this update, we’d like to share with you our shipping plans so everyone can be on the same page about what the next few weeks will be like.”
Discussing shipping protocols for the device, Jide noted:
“We’ll start shipping by early next week. We’ll start with a few hundred first and ramp up to thousands shipped every day. The first to be shipped will be to our US and North American backers. They are also the first plugs (Type A) that we are producing so they’ll also be the first ones we ship. Next up will be the EU plugs (Type C) and finally, the UK plugs (Type G).
“When your Remix Mini ships, our logistics partner will send you an email along with a tracking number for you to follow your Mini along its voyage. Fresh off the assembly lines, your Remix Minis will travel to Hong Kong where they will get on planes and fly into your country. After it passes customs, they’ll be expressed to your waiting hands.
“Along the way, they’ll have to go hundreds or thousands of miles and pass through a couple of customs departments before you’ll hear that knock on the door announcing the arrival of your Mini.”
The Remix Mini will be delivered towards the end of November or beginning of December.
