Wotwine?, which consists of eight Masters of Wine along with Sommeliers, winemakers, retailers and wine educators, is hoping to help customers find wine at an affordable price. The company allows the consumer to use its free app to scan the barcode of any wine that they select. This will give a short, user-friendly review about the wine and its value.
The Wotwine? team shared:
“The UK has 30 million wine drinkers of which some 6 million buy wine every week in supermarkets. Our experience has found that there is a great deal of consumer confusion about quality and price and thus value, consumers expect that the more they spend the better the wine, that a £10 bottle on offer for £5 must be really good value, but are generally disappointed.”
Thanks to Wotwine? and its app, customers will never have to (hopefully) worry about this kind of situation again. The team has tasted and evaluated over 10,000 bottles of wine to help customers find the perfect bottle for any occasion.
The company noted:
“Each wine has also been given a review to help you decide whether that bottle of Bordeaux is great or gut-corrodingly awful. But more importantly Wotwine? is a voice you can trust. We are 100 per cent independent and buy every bottle we taste. Our aim is for the consumer to be freed from misleading prices, hideous hike-ups and, of course, sub-standard wine.”
Wotwine? and its campaign has already secured nearly £100,000 and is currently offering 15.64% in equity.
