Brief: Former SEC Commissioner Troy A. Paredes Joins StreetShares Board of Advisors

Earlier this month, small business marketplace lender, StreetShares, announced the appointment of Troy A. Paredes to its Board of Advisors.

Troy A. ParedesFrom 2008 until 2013, Paredes served as a Commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), having been appointed by President George W. Bush. At the SEC, He was an advocate for small business and for simplifying the complexities of securities law.

Sharing his thoughts about the new appointment, Paredes stated:

“StreetShares offers an innovative funding solution for small business owners. I believe the StreetShares vision for small business lending can lead the industry going forward. I’m excited about joining the team in their efforts.”

StreetShares CEO Mark L. Rockefeller, stated:

Paredes holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley and earned his J.D. from Yale Law School. He joins former Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army, General George Casey, former Deputy Director of the CFPB, Raj Date, and SoFi founding team member, Pete Hartigan, on the Board of Advisors.
