DJ Live Streaming Community “Chew” Launches Seedrs Initiative to Expand Service

Chew, a live stream DJ community, is currently seeking £150,00 through its new Seedrs initiative to expand its services.

The company, which described itself as the Twitch for DJ’s, allows “bedroom DJs” to share their mixes while building and engaging a global fanbase:

“The bedroom DJs can hear and see how some of the biggest names in electronic music create their mixes. We also cater to the music fans; the fans who want to experience the mixes rather than create them. Every time a DJ streams live on Chew, the performance is recorded and archived so anyone can enjoy it at a later date – anywhere and at any time.”

Chew then commented:

“As far as we know there’s currently no single online community that brings the globally disparate community of passionate amateur DJs together, allowing this community to learn from each other, support one another, make a name for themselves or even discover the next big thing.”

The company also revealed that since its launch earlier this year it has 18,000 users from 190 countries that have created over 8,000 of content:

“Chew wants its most active users and audience members to support what they’re building. By investing directly into the business, you will be helping Chew achieve its efforts to build the world’s first open live streaming platform for DJs, musicians and music fans. Chew’s crowdfunding investors get the same rights as their current Angel investors (pre-emption rights, tax relief for UK investors and so on), but are able to invest anything from £10.

 

“While investing in early stage companies has an inherent risk, and takes a considerable amount of time to see a return, Chew’s investment track record could speak for itself. Since their time on Ignite, they’ve raised £141,000 of investment and the business’ share price has tripled in value (since this time last year).”

Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured nearly £60,000.
