With the 2016 calendar just around the corner, Jerusalem-based equity crowdfunding platform OurCrowd reflected on the past twelve months in its recent weekly newsletter.
“It’s been a busy year for the Startup Nation: multi-million dollar acquisitions, new key figures in the Israeli high-tech ecosystem, amazing non-profit high-tech initiatives, growing interest (and capital!) from various global tech giants, and more… Can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for the Startup Nation!”
OurCrowd revealed that there were 18 acquisitions in 2015 that prove E.U. and Israel are hotbeds of innovation:
“Some major tech M&As occurred this year spotlighting Europe’s thriving innovation and Israel’s continuous status as a hotbed for tech startups. Seven Israeli exit representatives (just the tip of the iceberg) are featured.”
The company then claimed that it believes the planet’s most startup-friendly accelerator is coming to Jerusalem:
“MassChallenge Israel invites all players in the Israeli startup ecosystem to celebrate launching its Jerusalem branch.”
It then mentioned the 100 most influential people in Israeli high-tech in 2015:
“Geektime identified and mapped the key figures in Israel’s startup scene. These entrepreneurs, investors, founders, journalists, and startup professionals shape where Israeli high-tech is going more than anyone else.”
