Broken Lizard, the studio behind the cult classic Super Troopers, recently offered up a new update for the film’s upcoming sequel.
Earlier this year, Broken Lizard announced the sequel just 14 years after the first film’s release at the 2001 Sundance Festival. The crew revealed that the movie would only be made IF the Indiegogo campaign completely raised $2 million. Within only a couple of hours, the project captured $1.3 million and then on day two was completely funded. By the end of its time on the global crowdfunding platform, the funding initiative secured $4,560,065.
In the Indiegogo update, Broken Lizard stated:
“As we start off 2016, we wanted to reach out and fill you in on the status of Super Troopers 2: what’s been accomplished so far and what is on the immediate horizon.”
Broken Lizard and the stars of the film (Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Erik Stolhanske, and Paul Soter) unveiled a video update to answer questions about the reward status and the schedule for future updates. See here.
The Broken Lizard then commented:
“If a lot of you email us about perks at the same time, it could take a long time to answer everyone… so before you do that, check out the full list of when we’re currently planning to send each perk!
