With fans still continuing to wait for TLC Kickstarter-funded album to be released, A&R producer, Ron Fair, weighed in on what to expect in regards to the 90’s all-girl band’s new tracks.
Last year, all-girl group TLC took to crowdfunding giant with a mission to raise $150,000 for their fifth and final album. The group was started in the early 90’s and became a huge sensation throughout the years thanks to their popular hip-hop tunes.
The band experienced a devastating situation in the early 2000’s when Lisa “Left-Eye” Lopes died in a car accident. The ladies, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, since then have been in and out of the music scene over the years, but were ready to answer their fans’ prayers with a new album that features new music.
During a recent interview with Metro, Fair revealed the type of music that will be on the group’s final album:
“It’s old soul music. It’s 90s throwback music. It’s vintage TLC and I can tell you that their vocals sound exactly the way they did the last time you heard them.”
Earlier this month, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, offered up an update about the album’s progress:
“We’re trying to finish up the album, and after today, [it will be] day in, day out, just getting this album done. I’ll just say this: We’re bringing back our interludes. We’ve come up with some really fun, funny stuff for people to enjoy.”
