On Thursday, perpetually crowdfunding company BrewDog unveiled a hilarious video for its new beer, Jet Black Heart. This video, which is called Tick Follows Tock, was reportedly created as a way to poke fun at Guinness’ horse surfer advertisings.

BrewDog 3The BrewDog team shared in a recent blog post:

“Time and Tide wait for no man, so the old saying goes. It doesn’t mention whether they also wait for women – and fails to include horses entirely. As it turns out, when it comes to dark, roasty beer horsepower crushes both of these things. At BrewDog, we know full well that to sell a stout you need two things. Thunderous waves. And horses.”

The beer, which won BrewDog’s 2015 Prototype Challenge, is described as a smooth and roasty oatmeal milk stout. The company noted that the reason why it named the brew Jet Black Heart is because it wished to return a dark beer to its Headliner range, which has eight different malts.

The company added:

Brewdog 1“Jet Black Heart, as a true people’s champion, is available in bottles and also – in a first for BrewDog – will be available on Nitro in every one of our bars. This dispense method elevates the richness and the mouthfeel of a stout to a whole new level; the smaller tighter bubbles of gas rising slowly yielding a creamy head and an utterly smooth experience. If you thought you had tasted Nitro stout before – good things come to those who…well, you know the rest.”

The video surfaced after BrewDog vowed for revenge against Guinness’ mother company, Diageo, for the 2012 infamous industry awards snub. The company stated:

“We have been plotting our revenge for a long time. And our revenge will be just as absurd as the original incident itself. It maybe that we have sat on a grudge for over 3 years. Or it maybe that we have had much better things to do with our time. Let’s hope Diageo has a sense of humour.”
