Dragon’s Den Success GripIt Fixings Seeks £1.5M on Crowdcube For International Expansion

On Monday, Dragon’s Den success and DIY firm, GripIt Fixings, launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to raise £1.5 million as a way to help fund international expansion plans.

“GripIt is the ‘World’s Ultimate Plasterboard Fixing’, holding extreme loads of up to 225kg and is designed to be the only fixing on the market which can fit into any plasterboard application. The GripIt’s patented design offers a quick, easy and secure fixing solution to DIY’ers and tradesmen, allowing them to hang or fix anything to plasterboard without the need for further supports.”

GripIt, which was founded by 20-year-old entrepreneur Jordan Daykin, received a total of£980,000 from Deborah Meaden during its visit on Dragon’s Den . Its products are now available in 33 countries.

Speaking about the new campaign, Daykin reportedly shared:

GripIt Fixing 3“This is a new round of financing to fund additional growth, following Deborah’s hugely successful backing in the Den, which has been paramount in our rapid development. We are extremely excited about bringing an even greater offering to the market and I’m delighted to be able to invite new investors, large and small, to join us on this journey to worldwide expansion.”

Meaden noted:

“GripIt is a rare combination of a great solution-led product driven by a truly smart entrepreneur. I am not surprised by the success but the speed at which the market has adopted GripIt speaks volumes about the opportunity for further growth.”

Since its launch, the campaign has already secured £235,000. It is set to close at the end of March.
