Seedmatch’s World Champ Protonet Debuts Upgrades For Carla Private Cloud Servers

On Tuesday, Protonet, a provider of project management and collaboration solutions, announced it has upgraded its popular Carla Private Cloud Servers. Protonet was founded 2012 by Ali Jelveh andChristopher Blum and in .2014, the company was awarded the Crowdfunding World Champion by Seedmatch, with an investment of three million euros and was later elected the 2014 startup of the year

Protonet 2These new servers are targeted to teams which require a large amount of storage and fast upload performance, such as creative agencies to securely share images and video with contractors and customers.  These servers adhere to Protonet’s design goal of delivering easy to use solutions where customers’ data is kept private.

The new Carla models may reportedly provide up to 8 cores (16 threads), 128 GB of RAM, and 40 TB of storage.  These added capabilities provide Carla with the muscle to run several business applications on a single server.  This allows users to choose among available third party applications to run alongside the Protonet SOUL project collaboration software.  Protonet’s Software Partner program integrates third party cloud-enabled business applications into the Protonet SOUL platform.

Jan Sapper, product manager at Protonet, commented:

Protonet“These private cloud server powerhouses can support multiple business applications, such as CRM, ERP, and DAM (Digital Asset Management), in addition to Protonet SOUL, all on a single server. This solution’s power and simplicity reduces customers’ total cost of ownership in software, hardware, and IT resources.”

Expansion options include:

  • 128 GB of memory
  • 40 TB of storage

It was then noted that despite providing lots of power, the patented cooling system allows these servers to be small, quiet, and energy efficient.  Therefore, the German engineered and European designed servers are desk-friendly and do not require expensive data center space or IT expertise to manage.
