Flexiroof, a Taranaki-based outdoor shelter maker, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on PledgeMe to raise a minimum of $165,000 as the company begins its global expansion.

FlexiroofThe company, which was founded in 2013, has been developing shelters for patios and outdoor areas:

“We shelter naked decks and patios which are to be found all over the place! In fact the majority of the 1.5 million plus houses in NZ have 1 or more ‘naked’ decks/patios – where people and furniture are exposed. We solve that exposure issue in a beautiful way!”

Founder of Flexiroof, Simon Moore, stated:

Flexiroof 3“We are excited to be able work with PledgeMe to invite our existing supporters, initial customers, and the wider market to join us in the next part of our business growth. With more than 1.5 million private dwellings in New Zealand, we have a large domestic market to support our ongoing growth. That base will drive our long-term goal – to sell kits throughout Australasia and license our intellectual property around the world.”

Moore also commented that Flexiroof has received excellent feedback from New Zealand customers:

Flexiroof 2“After more than two years perfecting our product and putting shelters up ourselves, we’re now ready to take the next step in our plan – providing kits to shelter naked patios throughout New Zealand and around the globe.”

Funds from the campaign will be used for the following:

  • Advancing patent portfolio
  • Creating customer acrylic sheet
  • Marketing
  • Short video production
  • Sell kits

Anna GuentherPledgeMe founder and CEO, Anna Guenther, then added:

“Simon is a mix of inventor and businessman, having already developed and successfully sold technology to Nike Golf. It’s amazing to see companies like Flexiroof turning to their crowd as they get set to expand sales across Australasia.”

Flexiroof is expecting to secure a minimum of $165,000 and up to $330,000, which will represent 4.2%–8.1% of the company, at $1.10 per share.
