Indiegogo Success “Con Man” Heading to New Video Streaming Platform Comic-Con HQ This Summer

On Friday, motion picture production and distribution giant, Lionsgate (NYSE: LGF), announced that the super popular web series Con-Man is heading to new video streaming platform, Comic-Con HQ, this summer.

Con Man 2Last year, Firefly duo, Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk took to Indiegogo with a mission to raise funds for the web series.

Wray Nerely (Alan Tudyk) was a co-star on Spectrum, a sci-fi series which was canceled -Too Soon- yet became a cult classic. Wray’s good friend, Jack Moore (Nathan Fillion) starred in the series and has gone on to become a major movie star. While Jack enjoys the life of an A-lister, Wray tours the sci-fi circuit as a guest of conventions, comic book stores, and lots of pop culture events.  The show will feature all the weird and crazy things that happen to Wray along the way to these events.

Con Man finished its campaign at a total of $3,124,214 and became the third biggest crowdfunding campaign of all time for film on any platform.

Seth Laderman, EVP and general manager of Comic-Con HQ, stated:

Comic-Con HQ is all about capturing the spirit of the fan community, and in its own way, so is Con Man. Alan uniquely understands all sides of the fan experience and he’s captured it in such a farcical way that it’s as much parody as it is commentary around the power of fandom.

Con Man 1Tudyk added:

We are thrilled to be a part of the Comic-Con HQ family. For a series that was born out of a passion for the genre and support from the fans, we couldn’t think of a better way to connect with our community.

Comic-Con HQ will also produce a second season of the series, which will debut on the service later this year. The first season will be available on the platform next month, following the platform’s beta launch tomorrow.
