On Monday, Indiegogo success Canary announced it is expanding into Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. The company reported in just 15 months, it is now available in retail locations and for direct order in 15 countries.
Canary had the most successful Indiegogo campaign of all time when they launched in the fall of 2013 and has since received multiple new product accolades including the prestigious iF and Red Dot Awards for excellence in design, an Edison Award, a CES Innovation Award, and more.
Last year, the company secured $30M in Series B funding to further its mission of empowering people everywhere to connect with and protect their homes, families, and communities. The round was led by Walden Riverwood Ventures (WRV), alongside significant investment from Cota Capital, Khosla Ventures, Flextronics, Two Sigma Ventures and Western Technology Investment.
In addition to increasing availability across Europe, Canary has also released both German and French language versions of its website and app. Adam Sager, Canary CEO and co-founder, explained:
“People deserve a simple, smart way to keep their homes safe, and until now that hasn’t been an option,” said . “Traditional security systems aren’t just broken, they never worked in the first place. Even DIY solutions are impractical, and often just as expensive. Canary takes a different approach to protecting the places and people you care about by providing meaningful information about what happens at home and empowering you to take action.”
He went on to add:
“We’ve built a product that solves a universal need and is not bound by geography, and it has captured thousands of burglaries and serious incidents across the world over the last year.”
