Less than a day after Crowdcube revealed it £39 million in investor interest for its self-running crowdfunding campaign, the funding platform stated four of its #FundedClub members have announced their support for the upcoming initiative.
Crowdcube initially set the bar at £5 million. The website confirmed that it only took just 6 hours for it to top £20 million. Currently, European law demands a prospectus for issuers raising over €5 million. Crowdcube noted that due to the rules associated with raising under a prospectus, information about the funding round is restructured until the prospectus is available.
Tom Bloomfield, founder and CEO of Mondo, shared his thoughts about Crowdcube’s upcoming raise:
“Working with Crowdcube, Mondo broke records by raising £1m in 96 seconds. The fundraising also helped turn almost 2000 customers into shareholders and advocates. We can’t wait for our next crowdfunding round and look forward to seeing how Crowdcube’s raise progresses.’’
Alex Zivoder, CEO of goHenry, noted:
“The UK and Europe have created an excellent regulatory framework to help SMEs raise funds and grow faster. But this framework would remain what it is, i.e. nice policy words, if companies such as Crowdcube weren’t here to bring to life the desire of retail investors to back the causes they want to see succeed on a global scale.”
Doug Monro, founder and CEO Adzuna, commented:
“Our Crowdcube fundraise helped to further raise the profile of Adzuna, bring hundreds of new advocates into our company, and fund our marketing, international expansion and tech innovation pipeline. Plus the Crowdcube team have been great people to work with.”
Russell Quirk, founder and CEO of Emoov, added:
“Since we overfunded in September 2015, eMoov has grown fast. The increase in exposure that we received as a consumer brand has also created an army of eMoov ambassadors that we’re truly benefiting from. It’s really exciting to see Crowdcube raising growth capital and pushing the boundaries once again with the production of a prospectus.”
The EIS eligible offer for Crowdcube shuts down pre-registration on Monday, July 18th at 12noon (GMT).
