Just a few months after receiving the coveted Good Design Award, Flow Hive, the most successful campaign ever on Indiegogo, announced a flash sale of its Flow Hive Classic Model at the original initiative’s price of $599.
Flow Hive closed on Indiegogo after securing $12,489,141 on April 20, 2015. Backers number over 37,000 and is now available on Indiegogo In-Demand. Flow is described as a revolutionary beehive invention, allowing anyone to harvest honey without opening the hive and thus with minimal disturbance to the bees. The startup is the creation of Australian father-son duo Cedar and Stuart Anderson.
While sharing details about the company’s progress, Cedar revealed he and his team have harvest 44 jars from one of their office hives. He reflected on the startup’s crowdfunding success and announced:
“Stu and I still pinch ourselves when we think about all the people our invention has inspired, and all the people who are engaging, learning and having fun with their bees all over the world. None of this could’ve happened without the Indiegogo community, who jumped on board to support us and shared our campaign far and wide. So, to say thanks to the Indiegogo community, until Midnight August 22th our best selling Flow Hive Classic will be back on Indiegogo, at the original campaign price of $599 for anyone who missed out.”
He also revealed the startup has the hives in stock in North America, Australia, and Europe that are ready to ship and they will begin shipping three working days after the backer places their order. Those interested have less than two weeks to place their orders through the Indiegogo campaign.
