On Monday, equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube announced its #FundedClub members, POD Point and Adzuna, were featured in The Sunday Times’ Tech Track 100 list. This list searches for and recognizes the UK’s fastest growing private tech companies.
POD Point turned to the crowdfunding method in 2015 and first captured £1.5m through Seedrs in March and successfully secured over $1.8 million on Crowdcube in December. The funds from each initiative are being used to develop products and grow the sales team. Founder of the company, Erik Fairbairn, previously shared with Crowdcube:
“As an entrepreneur I can really see the positive impact Crowdcube is having on the UK’s entrepreneurial market. London is now a real hub for tech businesses and the UK is catching up with Silicon Valley, crowdfunding has played a fundamental part in that journey. I decided to invest in Crowdcube as it provides an opportunity to invest in something that’s fundamental to the UK’s entrepreneurial endeavours. I know the senior team at Crowdcube and they’re doing a great job, for the right reasons and I wanted to support that.”
UK-based job search engine,Adzuna previously secured over £2 during its equity crowdfunding round on Crowdcube. It currently attracts over six million a month. Funds raised from the campaign were invested in Adzuna’s technology, building on a market-leading search and machine-learning platform that aggregates over 1 million UK job ads, as well as adding smarter job market search options and data. Co-founder Andrew Hunt previously stated:
“Having already attracted first class institutional investors in previous funding rounds, we want to offer our users and the wider public the opportunity to be part of our journey. Our mission is to match people to better, more fulfilling jobs and keep Britain working and we are passionate about achieving it.”
