This week, online retailer Biscuiteers announced it is set to launch an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. Founded in 2007 by Harriet Hasting and Stevie Congdon the company currently offers a range of products such as biscuits, chocolates, cakes, personalized items, wedding treats, and corporate gifts.
“We have come a long way since we launched our first collections in September 2007 with the mission to create a whole new way to gift. After all ‘why send flowers when you can send Biscuiteers?’ None of it would have happened without the incredible support of our lovely customers. You have inspired us every step of the way and enabled the business to grow into the multi-channel gifting business that it is today. Now we want to offer you the chance to invest and own a part of Biscuiteers. If you would like to know more register your interest here. We would love you to join us on the next stage of our Biscuit journey! Just fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch with our plans.”
Speaking about why she and her team are using the crowdfunding method, Hasting stated:
“We are fundraising now because we believe this is the right time to invest for accelerated growth into a proven model. Our aim was to disrupt the premium gifting sector and we believe that biscuits are a unique and more personalised alternative to flowers and chocolates.”
She then added:
“We decided to crowd fund as our customers are very much at the heart of our business and we wanted to give them a chance to be part of our biscuit journey. The funds raised will be used to invest in international expansion, manufacturing improvements and marketing.”
Biscuiteers has yet to disclose when the campaign will debut on the crowdfunding platform or how much it is seeking to raise during the funding round.
