Azoomee to Close Crowdcube Initiative With Nearly £800,000 in Funding

With less than 24 hours until its Crowdcube campaign closes, child safety app Azoomee is set to finish the initiative with nearly £800,000 in funding from more than 380 investors.

Azoomee 1The app allows children between the ages of 5 and 8 years old to watch, play, listen and get creative in one secure place. The app was launched earlier this year and is pre-loaded onto O2’s Family Tablet. It works on any iOS of Android device for the price of £4.99 per month, per family.  The creators of Azoomee, Estelle and Douglas Lloyd, stated they created the app as a way to keep their children safe online after their daughter came across inappropriate content.

Originally set to raise £450,000, the app has quickly become a huge hit on the equity crowdfunding platform. Recently, the Azoomee team announced more content is set to hit the app:

One of the main reasons why we are crowdfunding is to add more content to the platform. Since we launched the app, we have undertaken research to understand better what our users want to do on Azoomee. One thing has come through loud and clear – children on Azoomee want more games so, very recently, we secured a number of great games from leading HTML 5 developer Cool Games. Our content team chose Cool Games because their titles strike the right balance between having fun and learning.”

Besides adding more content to the app, the funds from the Crowdcube initiative will also be used for Azoomee’s European expansion and continue to grow its subscriber base. The campaign is set to close tomorrow.
