Huez, a UK-based cycling apparel brand, has launched a Crowdcube campaign to raise £250,000 for its 10 new menswear pieces and first women’s wear collection. The brand stated it uses advanced sportswear fabrics to create its range of cycling clothing that works on and off the bike. it revealed:
“We launched the brand in 2014, after we felt that most of the products available to the cycling market were too focused on a retro style, and manufactured with little attention to quality or modern design aesthetics. We saw an opportunity for a brand aimed squarely at the forward thinking cyclists who look to technology to improve their ride.”
Since its debut, Huez has partnered with various retailers, which includes The Conran Shop, Matches Fashion, and Velorution. It has also sold apparel in shops in the UK, Europe, and Australia. The company also noted it is one of the cycling brands that was selected by Matches Fashion.
Along with the collection launch, funds the Crowdcube initiative will also be used for continuous growth of its online strategy, hire a marketing manager to deploy strategy with sponsorship, online ads, print ads and key events., grow its wholesale accounts in the UK and internationally with new sales personnel, and deploy its marketing campaign. Huez went on to note:
“We plan to run the business long term (min. 5-10 years) and look to expand into other areas of outdoor sports, paying dividends to investors (once profitable).”
Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured nearly £80,000. It is set to close mid-November.
