Elementree, a vegan portfolio company and the principal owner of Okobay, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on FundedByMe. This news comes just a few month after the company acquired Pop Fruits. The company stated it is seeking to launch a new concept in healthy food solutions. All of its products are set to be plant-based and free from dairy, gluten, refined sugars, soy, and GMOs.

elementree-3The company noted that all of its products are designed to offer healthy alternatives without compromising on taste. Each of its brands offers the following:

  • OkoBay: Offers desserts that have low-calorie coconut water and coconut milk-based desserts
  • Pop Fruits: Has 100% ripe tropical fruit on a stick, which is aiming to offer a perfectly healthy snack with a high sales margins.
  • Rawito: Is consisted of 100% organic using superfood (think dairy free, sugar-free Magnum equivalent).

Sharing details about acquiring Pop Fruits, founder and owner of both Okobay and Elementree, Darryn Welch, stated:

“I was introduced to Pop Fruits 18 months ago and immediately felt that this was a simple and practical proposition that more and more people are looking for. Consumers want products with clean labels, the less ingredients the better. Pop Fruits is as simple and pure as it comes and the timing for such a product line is right for Europe. Having met with Erik Lindblad, Founder and previous owner of Pop Fruits, and seen we share the same vision, it became clear we needed to unify our efforts to increase the distribution possibilities for our brands… That’s when “Elementree” was born , says Darryn Welch, founder and owner Okobay & Elementree.”

In regards to why the company launched the FundedByMe campaign, Welch added:

elementree-2“The purpose of the equity crowdfunding campaign on FundedbyMe is to introduce this concept to consumers – to let them know that we are planning on introducing a new concept in stores that doesn’t exist in the frozen category and thats to be the Go-To for healthy, plant-based snacks and desserts. This campaign in 3-fold – to let other brands know what we are doing and invite them to collaborate with us and share part of our eventual freezer infrastructure across Europe. To let retailers, hoteliers and health clubs know our plans and solution for this growing category and invite us to work with them and finally to ask for support from our the crowd to help us raise sufficient funding to provide proof of concept for Elementree, so that we can continue to raise capital to grow this across Europe effectively and efficiently.”

The initiative is set to close at the end of December.
