Crowdfunder UK’s Jess Ratty Catches Up With What a Melon’s Olly Bolton to Discuss VOOM 2016 Success (Video)

Earlier this month, Crowdfunder UK’s Jess Ratty sat down with What A Melon’s Olly Bolton to discuss the company’s success at Virgin Media Business’ VOOM 2016. The Crowdfunder UK alum and beverage brand won £112,000 during the big event.

Voom 2016As previously reportedWhat a Melon was dubbed winner of the 2016 Crowdfunder Award. This award was offered during the UK and Ireland’s pitch competition. According to Virgin Media Business, the competition gives entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses the opportunity to pitch their ideas to Sir Richard Branson and win a prize fund worth over £1million. Winners of the crowdfunding portion of the contest will receive the following:

  • an additional £50K cash on top of funding
  • a marketing and media support campaign
  • a ticket to the VOOM 2016 final

During his chat with Ratty, Bolton shared his thoughts about the VOOM 2016 win along with What A Melon’s history with crowdfunding and why the company decided to ditch traditional banking processes.
