Seedrs Benelux Funds First Dutch Company, Signs Agreements with KPMG & EY

amsterdam-holland-netherlandsSeedrs Benelux has successfully funded its first Dutch company.  Fitmo, the Olympian-backed personal training app, is now the first Dutch campaign to fund on Seedrs following the opening of its Amsterdam office. Fitmo is a personal training app backed by Olympic star Haile Gebrselassie, who has broken 27 world records, and is sharing his expertise with runners across Europe via bespoke training programs on the App. The convertible raised €155,860 from 87 different investors.

Seedrs has also announced new agreements with KPMG Hub for Entrepreneurs (KHUBE) and EYnovation in Luxembourg.

fitmo-lovely-daySeedrs is now an official member of KHUBE, described as a “one-stop-shop for entrepreneurship” launched by KPMG Luxembourg.

The relationship with Ernst & Young’s EYnovation program in Luxembourg supports and facilitates Seedrs’ activities across the Benelux region. Seedrs said the key aspects of the partnership include collaborating at events and introducing startups looking to raise capital to Seedrs.

Seedrs also inked an “exclusive partnership” with Ldny at the London Stock Exchange to promote female entrepreneurship and educate more women about early stage investment. Ldny has launched a fashion line called Dress to Invest and 10% of the line’s monthly profits will be invested into a female founders campaign on Seedrs every month.

The first startup to benefit from the initiative will be is Cilia Rodriguez, CEO of Looks App; a FashionTech platform now live on Seedrs where time-starved online shoppers have a chance to engage with professional stylists in real time making personal style advice available to the mass market.

Seedrs said several Benelux based companies will be raising capital on its platform soon. FRANK about Tea, Looks App, Try Catch, POPPED Music, NoticeSound expect to open campaigns to European investors in the coming weeks.

Seedrs has had over £160 million invested on the platform for more than 400 deals since platform launch. Seedrs is backed by fund manager Neil Woodford, Augmentum Capital, Faber Ventures and over 1,000 of its own customers.
