Founded in 2011, Twickets has achieved more than £2.7 million in ticket sales and 240,000 mobile app downloads since its launch. The platform has been dubbed the exclusive resale platform for various musicians, which includes Adele, Mumford & Sons, and One Direction. It also attracted investors such as the founder of Ignition Management (Noel Gallagher, Catfish & The Bottlemen), Modest! (One Direction, Olly Murs), the founder of Wildlife (Arctic Monkeys, Royal Blood), Chris Wright (Chrysalis plc co-founder), Steve Parish (Chairman / co-owner Crystal Palace FC), Tony Wadsworth (ex-EMI Chairman). The company stated:
“Twickets is the only ticket exchange for real fans, where all tickets traded are strictly face value or less. The service has grown significantly since its launch in 2011 and now has an audience of well over a quarter of a million users in the UK alone. We operate on the web, mobile (as a free app) and social media to make it as easy as possible to buy or sell a ticket at anytime. We’re matched thousands of fans buying and selling tickets at face value or under for a huge range of events ranging from gigs to theatre, comedy to sport.”
Twickets then noted:
“Twickets has quickly established itself as what we believe is the only solution able to satisfy the needs of fans and event organisers, and seeks investment to accelerate growth in the UK and internationally.”
Funds from the Seedrs campaign will be used for creating a marketing strategy. The company added it is also dedicated funds to help expand outside the UK, with planning for mainland Europe before the end of the year and a U.S. launch in 2017. The initiative is set to close on January 5th.
