NextGen Crowdfunding announced on Thursday the first round winners of its Crowdfunding Video Awards (CVAs), which recognizes the best pitch videos from both reward and equity crowdfunding campaigns.
The company’s CVAs provides campaign organizers new ways to promote crowdfunding campaigns and products to backers as well as potential investors. Viewers of the CVAs will also be able to vote for their favorite crowdfunding campaign videos. NextGen reported that the first season of the CVAs, which kicked off late last month, includes six live-streamed preliminary shows and culminate in a final show highlighting the best videos of the season from all six rounds as voted on by the public. NextGen founder, Aubrey Chernick, previously stated:
“We received a wide variety of submissions from crowdfunding campaigns — spanning industries from technology to pets to wellness — to participate in the first season of the Crowdfunding Video Awards. The campaign videos we’ll be showing viewers over the course of this season showcase creativity, passion and the entrepreneurial spirit.”
Winners from the first round of the CVAs are the following:
- First Place: Limitless Phone Case by Mous – Cases that prevent smartphones from breaking.
- Second Place: PowerFilm – A solar panel that has an integrated battery that charges devices anytime, anywhere.
- Third Place: Codeybot by Makeblock – An open-source Arduino robot platform.
Contestants that will be participating in CVA’s second round include Air By Crazybaby, Bios Urn, CampMaid, CHiP Robot dog by Wowwee, Cycleboard, FIIL Technology, Flatev, Forever O.G.Pant by Wonderous, GameON by ROAM, lofit by Salted Venture, and Luuup Litter Box.
The second round will takThe CVA’s second round voting will end this evening (9PM PT/12AM ET). Voting on the three finalists from round two will run from February 15th through February 19th. The winners will be announced during a live-streamed award show on February 22nd.
