Kailani Successfully Crowdfunds on Crowdcube Spain

Spanish Natural Tea Maker Raises €161,261 on Crowdcube Spain

Kailani Ice Tea has successfully raised €161,261 on Barcelona-based crowdfunding platform Crowdcube Spain.  According to Crowdcube, 106 individual investors purchased a 19.9% stake in the company to complete the funding round.

Kailani is described as a refreshing, low-calorie natural ice tea beverage without added sugars or artificial ingredients. It has been on the market since April 2015. Kailani is made in Spain with pure spring water from Galicia with under half the calories of its main competitor. In 2016, Kailani–using neither plastics or aluminum in its packaging–sold more than 40,000 product units.

Kailani’s business model is wholesale-oriented and the beverage is directed toward the consumer retail market. With the investment obtained, Kailani intends to close partnership deals with key distributors and grow the business as quickly as possible. To do this it will increase staff, invest in marketing, create a third Kailani flavour and increase production.

Since July 2014, Crowdcube Spain has channeled more than €7 million into 37 different companies. Crowdcube has been authorised by the Spanish Securities Market Commission (CNMV) as a participatory financing platform since July 2016 and it is certified by Catalonia Trade and Investment (ACCIÓ) for its quality and transparency.
