Ireland-based Crua Outdoors, also known as Thermo Tents, announced on Wednesday the launch of its second equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs. Crua Outdoors’ first equity round secured £85,371 in 2015, and last year, the company raised $300,003 through its reward-based Kickstarter campaign. The company stated:
“Great ideas happen when you wake up shivering in the dead of night in the west of Ireland. We knew there had to be a better way of getting a good night’s sleep in the great outdoors. We needed a tent that is more than a tent; that is a comfortable refuge that would be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. In a moment of freezing clarity, we realized that we were going to have to build it ourselves. At Crua Outdoors (trading name of Thermo Tents Ltd) we have essentially begun a ‘Tent Revolution’ by designing and developing what we understand to be the world’s very first thermally and acoustically insulated tent or tenting system.”
The company’s patent-pending multi-layer design and brand new insulation technology have applications in:

- Glamping Tents
- Disaster Relief Shelters
- Industrial Shelters
Crua Outdoors’ team promises that each of the tents keeps customers cooler in the summer, warmer in the winter and will muffle out noise and light transferring in and out. The company revealed it has sold its tents all over the world. It is seeking £100,000 to expand product range and continue on its mission to revolutionize camping. Since its debut, the campaign has captured over half its funding target. It is set to close later this spring.
