Overfunding: Pregnancy Device BabyWatcher Quickly Surpasses €100,000 Funding Target on Seedrs

Babywatcher, a device that allows soon-to-be parents to see their little one during doctor checkups, has successfully secured its initial €100,000 funding target on equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs, thanks to nearly 60 investors. While sharing details about the device, the Babywatcher team revealed:

When Raymond Bergs’ wife got pregnant, Raymond’s inquisitive mind led him to develop the Babywatcher. During the pregnancy he found it fascinating to see the Echo of his unborn child during checkups at the clinic. Hence, would it not be fantastic if they could see their baby-to-be at home, when they felt like it? After three years of research and seed investment, he came up with a compact echo-scanner specifically for the consumer market. The kit is simple to use and lets pregnant women make scans safely, store the pictures and share them with family and friends.”

The Babywatcher is easy to operate and is suitable between 14 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. The Babywatcher dashboard reveals to users some features that will help create the baby’s images larger or smaller, adjust the brightness, and save images. It can also list the number of echoes that users have made and can make, duration of an echo, time, and date. A movie takes up to 60 seconds. The Babywatcher team noted that earlier this year, the device won the Dutch Baby Innovation Award as the most innovative baby product in the “Baby Care” category.

Funds from the Seedrs initiative will be used to continue Babywatcher’s growth and development. The round is set to close later this summer.
