Overfunding: Smart Doorbell Brand Ding Surpasses £250,000 Funding Goal on Seedrs

Ding, a UK-based smart doorbell brand, has successfully secured its initial 250,000 funding target from more than 175 Seedrs investors. The company describes its doorbells as simple, beautiful, and smart. It allows users to talk with the person at your door.

The doorbell is perhaps the oldest piece of technology in your home, the original ‘smart home device’ and yet one of the last devices to have been updated to suit the modern home. We have conducted market research and observed that homeowners want the connectivity of smart doorbells to make their lives easier but the market is extremely limited. They have either cheaper “dumb doorbells” with unpleasant ring tones or ‘smart doorbells’ that have become, in our opinion, unnecessarily high-tech gadgets that don’t suit your home.”

The Ding doorbells are notably simple to setup and use. The company stated the doorbells are made up of two parts: the first is a subtle doorbell button that sits near a door, the second is an elegant” doorbell chime that sits in the home. Ding added:

We want to give your doorbell some love and also think about what more it can do for you. We believe that you need a doorbell to be simple, that doesn’t need a lengthy user manual to setup or use; beautiful because you’ve already spent a month picking out paint colors; smart, because the rest of your life is already on your phone.”

Funds from the Seedrs campaign will be used to continue Ding’s expansion. It is set to close later this summer.
