Following the quick success of its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, vegan burger restaurant, The Vurger Co. announced its new permanent location. As previously reported, the restaurant is currently on a mission to revolutionize fast food forever through the power of plants. It was revealed:
“We believe our restaurant will be one of the first entirely plant-based concepts to target the mainstream market, re-imagining fast food completely. Simply vegetables, with no meat substitutes, lovingly crafted into one of themes accessible and informal dishes the world has ever known – the burger!”
The restaurant team also shared:
“Because our diets are changing and demand for plant-based food is increasing rapidly. After suffering from persistent health issues for years, and after a life-changing trip to California, we came back to London looking for fantastic and natural plant-based food, served quickly, in a space with mainstream appeal. We couldn’t find it, so we created our own, and our popular pop up restaurants have shown us that London is ready for, and excited about, the future of The Vurger Co.”
Speaking about the new location and crowdfunding campaign, founders of Vurger Co. Rachel Hugh and Neil Potts reportedly stated:
“We are extremely excited that we hit the £300k mark in just 77 hours, we just love that everyone has got behind our mission, believed in us and our team and understood how much of an impact our concept can have on the future of food! We cannot wait to start working on our permanent home!”
Along with funding the restaurant, funds will also be used for working capital in order support strong early trading. Vurger secured its initial target of 300,000 in 77 hours, allowing Hugh and Potts to raise the equity offering from 23.08% to 33.33%.
