Naked Wines Launches Fundraising Efforts for California Wildfires Relief

Following the devastating wildfires that have claimed the lives of more than 30 people and have destroyed miles of land in Northern California, Naked Wines has launched fundraising efforts for the wineries and vineyards affected by the natural disaster.

“Since Sunday, October 8th, catastrophic fires have been ravaging Napa and Sonoma wine country. The fires have hit the winemaking community hard – hundreds of wineries have been affected. Vines and production facilities have been burned to the ground, and thousands of people have lost their homes and workplaces.”

While revealing where the funds will go, Naked Wines shared that it is working with local groups in Sapa, Sonoma, and surrounding wine country (including Napa Valley Community Foundation). The money will go to the platform’s winemaking communities that are in need (i.e. the employees that work in the vineyards and wineries). In regards to how the funds will be distributed, Naked Wines added:

“We’re primarily speaking to the Napa Valley Community Foundation, and we’re also looking at a number of other charitable organizations that can help wine workers. We won’t benefit from any of these donations ourselves. The money will be distributed by third-party charities, like the Napa Valley Community Foundation or Red Cross. Your donation will be charged to the default credit card on your account when we process the donations on or around next week.”
