Waves Technologies, a data-led on-demand air taxi service providing accessible point-to-point air travel, has successfully secured its initial £495,000 funding target on equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs.
The company revealed that its service uses big data and intelligent technology to provide affordable and accessible point-to-point air travel for everyone. This service allows travelers to order an aircraft and check-in securely on flights through the company’s mobile app. The flights cost as little as £55.
“By carefully considering every step of the booking and journey, we’ve managed to turn aviation on its head to make our air taxi service affordable for all. Booking and security is managed by new technology, we choose the most appropriate aircraft, and we can fly to smaller airfields – all of which cuts cost without sacrificing safety or service. We also gather large volumes of data to continually improve the fuel-efficiency of our flights.”
The company reported that flights will run initially between the Channel Islands and UK mainland, with plans to offer further flights running to Europe (including South of France, Spain, and Italy) next year.
“We need affordable, fixed-price flights to Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, Northern France, and the South of England. We need a service that moves with the times and embraces the fast evolving new technology available to all of us. That’s the solution! So Waves has created it… and it’s about to take off!”
Funds from the Waves’ crowdfunding campaign will go towards continuing the company’s expansion. The funding round is set to close later this winter.
