A subtle hint for our American readers, the day after Thanksgiving… Grab your turkey sandwich and read about Clubs DiR, Catalonia’s leading fitness chain.

DiR closed its third equity crowdfunding funding round on Crowdcube Spain, this one to fund its a 477,420-EUR funding round to fund its twenty-second fitness club, BDiR Alcudia, which will open its doors in 2018. 132 people invested with an average investment of 3,617 EUR. Founded in 1979 by CEO Ramon Canela, DiR counts more than 70,000 members and more than 650 technicians with diversified services including nutrition, physical therapy/osteopathy and beauty treatments as part of its core fitness team. The fitness centers boast state-of-the-art equipment, more than 50 different activities, many of them 100% DiR creation, functional and metabolic training, and new service proposals to engage clients.

The BDiR Alcudia round demonstrates DiR Group’s commitment to innovation and new fundraising technologies, the third capital increase that the fitness chain has carried out through Crowdcube. In December 2016, DiR closed its first campaign with a 452,160-EUR round for its twentieth club, DiR Mallorca. Last May, it raised 383,280 EUR for DiR Granados. As in prior funding rounds, DiR launched an equity crowdfunding raise for BDiR Alcudia to give its supporters and followers an opportunity to be a part of its 22nd club and become co-investors in the new centre, combining equity with contributions from its shareholders.
