Overfunding: Central London Seafood Restaurant Group Bonnie Gull Quickly Raises £200,000 Through Crowdcube Campaign

Bonnie Gull, a seafood restaurant group based in Central London, has successfully secured its initial £200,000 funding target through its equity crowdfunding campaign on CrowdcubeLaunched in 2012, the restaurant brand started its pop-up concept in Hackney before launching permanently in Fitzrovia. It claims to be one of London’s top and most popular seafood restaurants.

“The group prides itself on offering daily fresh, sustainable British produce, expertly cooked at competitive prices in a professional but relaxed environment. Described by AA Gill as ‘a very very nice restaurant’ and Grace Dent as ‘perfect,’ the flagship site showed a profit of £157k Y/E May 2017.”

Bonnie Gull noted that a second ‘Seafood Shack’ in Soho launched in 2016 to and with an open kitchen and counter seating, the little restaurant has a notably attracted great buzz and already has a loyal customer base. Customers can watch their food get cooked in front of them on a charcoal grill and interact with chefs directly.

Funds from the campaign will be used for the restaurant’s upcoming Salt ’n’ Sauce brand, which will launch its first site in Oxford. The funds will also go towards re-fit and improvements of existing Bonnie Gull restaurants, along with the development of brand and team.

The campaign is set to close next Saturday.
