Online Retailer Rock and Roost Now Seeking £275,000 on Crowdcube

Rock and Roost, a UK-based online retailer, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube seeking £275,000. The platform revealed that it provides ‘make to order’ furniture and other homeware to UK customers, plus a SaaS solution to SMEs to drive supply chain efficiencies. It has also achieved £2.26 million in sales to date.

“As an alternative to traditional ‘pile it high, sell it cheap’ retailers, our Make to Order (MTO) business model, combined with our systems allows us to supply a vaster range of products. With our systems and software skills, we aim to provide a superb customer experience and business model, offering more value for money with lower financial and operating risk.”

Rock and Roost reported that it is currently in discussions with 9 factories in Rajasthan, India, who the platform believes are currently an untapped resource in terms of their ability to supply the valuable UK market. The company then noted:

“We are already a profitable, diversified Software and Services business, with a proven track record £2.26 million sales to date and bringing over £630k in profit** into the business. Our expertise is in enabling supply chain and retail management best practice for small and medium-sized suppliers of a range of fashion products.”

Funds from the Crowdcube campaign will be used to fund low-value stock items, improve supply chain system, and working capital. Since its launch, the funding round has secured nearly £100,000 from more than 35 investors. It is set to close at the end of January.
