UK-based brewing company, Left Handed Giant Brewing, announced on Wednesday it has decided its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The funding round was launched earlier this much and quickly secured its initial £450,000 funding target. It has now raised £840,000 thanks to nearly 1,200 investors. While sharing details about the extension, the Left Handed Brewing team reported:
“After 27 days on Crowdcube, 1189 people getting on board helping us raise £839,980 we are nearing the end of our initial 30-day campaign. Despite being currently 186% funded we have been receiving continued interest in our pitch and have reset our final goal at £1,000,000. Crowdcube have very kindly offered to support us in raising this figure and allowed us to extend our time on the site. We have now opened up the pitch for a further 14 days, or until the pitch hits £1,000,000, whichever comes first.”
As previously reported, Left Handed Giant Brewing was launched in 2015 and claims to be one of the most highly rated breweries in the UK. It was revealed:
“We are creating a true home for our business in the centre of Bristol where we can reside long into the future. We will build our new brewery here, brewing beer in the very heart of Bristol. We will house a bar, restaurant and event space to create a venue which matches the quality of our beers.”
The company reported it will have wholesale partners throughout the UK and export to Sweden, Denmark, France, and Italy, but doesn’t believe it will be sending its beer further from source. Its existing brewery will become a mixed fermentation specific facility with coolship that has an extended barrel and Foudre store.
All funds from the Crowdcube campaign will be used to continue Left Handed Giant Brewing’s growth and development. The funding round is now set to close mid-April.
