Zero 2 Infinity, a European space transportation company, is now seeking 1 million through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube to continue with its growth plan and vision to make space “more accessible” for all. Founded in 2009, the company reported that it is specialized in the elevation to the Edge of Space of all kind of payloads that require testing and certifying in Space conditions.
Since inception, Zero 2 Infinity has reported secured more than €5 million through various investment rounds and prior to launching the funding round, Zero 2 Infinity raised £330,725 from existing investors.. Along with the funding of the company’s expansion, the Crowdcube campaign is set to fund the next technical milestone in the development of Bloostar, which is the company’s dedicated satellite launcher.
“Bloostar’s first stage is a high altitude balloon that takes the launcher to 25 km (>80,000 feet), where it ignites its engines and accelerates to provide for satellite orbit insertion. It is a simplified way of accessing orbit. With the balloon, altitude is gained, and with the rocket, speed. Furthermore, Bloostar is less expensive than any other solution and environmentally friendly.”
Zero 2 Infinity also revealed thatBloostar has been shortlisted by the European Space Agency (ESA) in its recent micro-launcher study, the Launchers Preparatory Programme (LPP). The company noted that the ESA chose feasibility studies from industry proposing an economically viable, commercially self-sustaining innovative micro-launcher.
The Crowdcube funding round is set to close at the end of June.
