John McAfee, a somewhat controversial individual and founder of the software company McAfee Associates, an anti-virus – security firm, has forsaken the cryptocurrency industry.
In a series of tweets, McAfee said;
“I am no longer working with ICOs nor am I recommending them, and those doing ICOs can all look forward to arrest. It is unjust but it is reality. I am writing an article on an equivalent alternative to ICOs which the SEC cannot touch. Please have Patience.”
This about face was allegedly due to “threats” emanating from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Earlier this month, McAfee tweeted a suggestion to followers to email or phone SEC Chair Jay Clayton – while providing an email address and telephone number. McAfee stated;
“Flood this mother f****rs voice mail with demands he debate me. CNN is ready. Show this pr*ck what the crypto community is all about!”
Perhaps, McAfee took things a bit too far.
McAfee also said he had blocked over 800 twitter followers who were rude to him.
Hmmm, perhaps he should have been more considerate to Chair Clayton?
