Sponsored by EXIST-Gründerstipendium, Mowea’s Modular Wind Turbines aim to supplement solar/ photovoltaic facilities for an independent energy supply of private households and industrial plants. With Mowea, energy generated from the wind and sun can be injected into a common energy grid with very minor expenditure. Mowea synced with Companisto to raise €350,000; the company currently has secured more than €444,580 from over 720 investors for 17.95% equity. Funding will be used to complete Mowea’s technology as a close-to-production prototype and validate it in different pilot tests in order to secure Series-A-financing.
Alongside the high efficiency, the major advantages of Mowea systems seem to be their low purchase price and their low environmental impact (noise reduction and safeguards for birds) which as suitable for single-family houses, mobile radio masts, and rooftops in urban or industrial surroundings. The campaign reported that MOWEA had just started a pilot project with telecommunication provider Vodafone.

The Berlin-based company was founded Dr. Till Naumann and Andreas Amberger not only to aspire toward internationalization but also to use their technology in developing and emerging countries as well as in disaster areas. The use of several identical small wind generators in an interconnected system aim to make Mowea’s facilities more efficient, flexible and scalable, designed for mass production.
In other related news, the German Crowdfunding Assocation announced approval from that the German parliament for the implementation of the New European Prospectus Directive and, at the suggestion of the federal government, has decided to raise the upper limit of the prospectus exemption for crowdfunding issuance from the current €2.5 million limit to €8 million per issuer per year.
