KingsCrowd Wants to Become MorningStar of Crowdfunding, Raises Money on NetCapital

KingsCrowd, a startup that wants to become the “Morningstar of equity crowdfunding” is using crowdfunding to raise their seed funding round. The offer is posted on NetCapital and seeks a max raise of $106,999. The minimum is low at $10,000 – but two weeks into the funding round over $47,000 has already been raised.

According to the company, they want to provide the first viable research and analytics service to support the growing online startup investment market. This means doing research on offers listed on the various Reg CF platforms (IE SeedInvest, StartEngine, Wefunder, Republic, NextSeed, Netcapital and more).

KingsCrowd was created by Chris Lustrino, founder of Fintech Blog SIC. He was nominated for Fintech Journalist of the Year in 2018 by LendIt.  Lustrino has enlisted Sean O’Reilly as Chief Content Officer. O’Reilly was previously an editor and Podcast Host at The Motley Fool, covering energy, industrials, technology and consumer goods.

KingsCrowd has an interesting advisor in John Fanning (an early investor in Uber, former Chairman of Napster and current Chairman of Netcapital).

So what do you get if you invest? Member units as the company is an LLC. The valuation has been pegged at a post money amount of $1,926,999.
