Hopsters Brewery Returns to WeFunder Seeking Funds For New Philadelphia Location

Less than two years after securing $2 million through its crowdfunding campaign on Wefunders, Hopsters Brewery has returned the funding platform seeking $4 million through its new Reg CF round for its upcoming Philadelphia location.

Hopsters Brewery describes itself as a craft brewery with brew-your-own-beer experience, bar, and restaurant all under one roof. Hopsters’ stated it gives patrons a place they can enjoy any occasion. The brewery also noted that it is a “jumping brewpub,” where customers and groups can make their own beer while drinking house-brewed beers, wine, cocktails and dining on elevated American bar food.  Hopsters has two locations.

The first opened its doors in 2013 in Newton, MA and in late 2017 Hopsters opened its flagship location in the Boston Seaport. Hopsters revealed that its new Boston location filed $1.1 million in the first quarter of 2018 revenue while its original location does $1.3 million in annual sales. The Boston location has the capacity for 180 people and boasts 12 kettle stations, a bar, brew hall, and a full-service restaurant and kitchen.

Prior to the crowdfnding campaign’s launch, the brewery reported that it is in negotiation with PMC Property group to bring its latest “Brew Pub and Brew Your Own Beer.” Speaking about the latest funding round, Lee Cooper, Founder of Hopsters Brewery, stated:

Back in 2016 we raised almost 2 million dollars from over 500 investors from all over the country, these investors have been loyal stakeholders and our guests and we want them to share in our growth. In fact, we have had commitments of just under 1 million dollars in the last month from past investors.”

The crowdfunding campaign is set to close later this fall.
