Airmony Sleep Apnea Device Co. Nears Crowdfunding Goal Early in Crowdcube Campaign: Sweet Dreams

Airmony, a new portable, light and tubeless sleep apnea e-tech device, pushes a continuous flow of air to help sleep apnea patients breathe and enjoy a good night’s sleep. The Barcelona-based company synced with Crowdcube to raise £200,000 and has surpassed £146,100 in the first three days of its equity crowdfunding campaign with the help of over 80 investors.  Pre-valued at £3,075,000, Airmony is currently offering 6.11% equity during the round.

Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSAS), a common sleep disorder where breathing stops for a few seconds during sleep, affects up to 6% of the world’s adult population. Untreated, moderate to severe OSAS can lead to serious health complications, such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cancer and depression, indicated the medtech company.

While Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) devices exist to treat this condition, Airmony contends that its new CPAP device is smaller, lighter, tubeless, washable and can be used both by children and adults. The sleep apnea device market is growing at a CAGR of 7.8%, and the total addressable market is reportedly projected to be worth $6.49B by 2023.

“We’re excited to have raised £140,000 and hit the 70% mark in just 36 hours of being live! We’re also receiving a flurry of investment enquires and a lot of interest in our technology in general, so we couldn’t be happier,” discussed Airmony on Crowdcube. “After having achieved the lowest noise level in CPAPs (see our previous update for more details), we’re now awaiting the arrival of our final model. This version will be ready for industrialisation and is due to arrive in a couple of weeks. Watch this space as there will be more to come on this.

With its low noise level — others are very loud —  Airmony touts that its device runs for more than two nights on a USB rechargeable battery and includes sensors for e-health monitoring, allowing both patients and their doctor to review sleep patterns. Supported by numerous institutions, including the Estivill Sleep Foundation and ESADECreapolis, Airmony aims to operate with a hybrid model, through distributors and online direct sales, alongside its app, which is currently in development.

The Airmony team includes CEO/CTO Jaume Palou, Medical Director Miquel Sisteré and Medical Advisor Eduard Estivill.

27 days remain on Airmony’s Crowdcube campaign. Other medtech campaigns currently featured on Crowdcube include miicare, DocNoc and DC Surgical Supplies Limited.
