Much Better Adventures, a UK-based traveling platform, has closed its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs with more than £1.2 million. The platform launched the funding round last month and quickly secured its initial £500,000 funding target.
As previously reported, Much Better Adventures claims it offers unique adventures and experiences that are delivered by local hosts and guides around the world. The company claimed its hassle-free and ready-to-book adventures “make it easier for a global community of like-minds to fit more unique experiences into their weekends and holidays.” Its community has spent over 50,000 days adventuring in the company of its local hosts, with every booking also supporting critical conservation work.
“In November 2017 we invited our community to invest in us. They smashed our target in 72 hours – one of the largest, fastest crowd raises by a UK travel company. Fast forward to 2019, adventure sales have grown by more than 135% year on year, and more than 300% in May.”
Much Better Adventures noted its in-house tech platform automates the entire booking flow – replacing the traditional tour operator or agency with a highly efficient and scalable model that connects adventurers to specialist local operators, running adventures often exclusively for its community.

Funds from the Seedrs round will be used for continuous growth, expansion of sales globally, and offering new experiences.
