Mexico-based Fintech Clip Introduces New Contactless Payment System, “Clip Total”

Mexico-based Fintech firm Clip is introducing another payment method, called “Clip Total.” Adolfo Babatz, the company’s co-founder, said that the new payment solution is like having a “point of sale [system] in the palm of your hand.”

During a recent presentation, Clip’s management shared an introductory video which showed how transactions are carried out using Clip’s payment solutions.

The Clip Total payment system may be accessed from a terminal. It comes with several useful features, which have been developed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The Clip Total payment solution accepts all debit and credit cards, including American Express.  The software program can print receipts to help users keep track of their expenses and do their accounting.

The Clip Total payment system can be accessed through a large screen, so that users can easily see what they’re doing. It features a touch-screen keyboard, is wireless, and provides free internet for performing transactions.

Clip Total can also print customer orders which may be sent to kitchen staff working at restaurants.

Clip Total comes with a barcode scanner, which allows users to scan and register the products they’re selling and create their own digital catalogs.

If an item needs to be canceled or if someone wants to look up a product in a database, then users can do this conveniently from their devices, without having to use a PC.

Clip Total supports contactless payments, so users don’t have to physically touch terminals with their card to process transactions.

This new approach is usually faster and provides improved security, because users are not required to enter their PINs in front of other people. It’s also simpler to make payments this way  because you only have to pull out a payment card.

Older models were smaller and looked similar to handheld calculators, however, Clip Total looks like a real point of sale terminal (but it’s not as bulky and has a sleek look).

Clip Total is priced at $224, with the option of making 12 monthly installments of $19.
