Clim8, an App-based startup for sustainable investing, has now surpassed £1.1 million through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The funding round, which is set to close next Thursday, has attracted over 1060 Crowdcube investors so far. The company is offering 24.88% in equity at a £3,384,815 pre-money valuation.
As previously reported, Clim8 is looking to capitalize on the heightened awareness of impact investing. More specifically, Clim8 seeks to enable investors to focus their savings on supporting firms that positively impact climate change. The company further explained:
“According to the United Nations, the world needs to invest $2.4 trillion dollars, every year, into clean energy, from now until 2035, to meet the climate change targets. At Clim8, our mission is to move billions of pounds of investments into clean energy and truly green, sustainable companies.”
Clim8’s actual App is currently in development but is in the queue to launch during the second quarter. The App claims a waiting list of more than 5,000 individuals.
The company also revealed that it raised a seed round of £650,000 in 2019 from sophisticated investors with backgrounds in finance, including ex Morgan Stanley and Deutsche Bank executives. They are excited about the potential of a fintech-focused on sustainable investing. Clim8 is planning to use the Crowdcube funds for launch, team, and marketing.
