Twin Science & Robotics, a new educational experience that up skills children with physical and digital products, has successfully surpassed its initial £750,000 campaign funding target through equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs. The funding round has so far attracted more than 200 Seedrs investors.
Founded in 2017 and launched earlier this year, Twin Science & Robotics states that it is developing a form of learning which is playful, individualized, and wholesome. The type of learning teaches old, current, and future skills. One which values both technological advancement and human compassion. Twin noted it is offering a hybrid educational solution to create this impact.
“Twin isn’t about technology. It’s about learning. Yes there’s coding and robotics involved, but there’s humanity too. With Twin, kids choose what they want to learn – whether they want to be a farmer or a physicist. Our job is simple. To give kids all the tools and access they need to learn the science behind the craft.”
Twin now offers a digital product, Twing, which is a skill-based personal development and educational application for children currently targeting 7-11 years old. The product delivers interdisciplinary learning concepts (adventures) for children with mini-games, developing nearly 300 skills.
Twin also offers physical products, Twin Kits, which is Twin hardware products consist of electronic modules that can be attached with magnets. Using Twin kits, children can learn the basics of robotics, computer programming, and even artificial intelligence. Twin further revealed:
“Twing, launched in February 2020, has been free so far. In November 2020 (post-investment), we are planning to launch a subscription model to generate monthly recurring revenue from premium content. The target group will be families for individual subscriptions and schools for collective subscriptions.”
Twin is now offering 30% through the investment round. The funding will be used to continue the growth and development of the Twin platform. The campaign will close mid-November.
