Fnatic, a UK-based esport brand, is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with more than £1.6 million raised. The funding round, which has attracted nearly 3600 Crowdcube investors, originally sought to raise £1 million.
As previously reported, Fnatic claims that it is one of the most successful esports brands of all time, with 16 years competing at the top. It has 100 staff, 37 pro gamers, and 6 global offices. The company has won more tier 1 esports tournaments than any other team, and we’re the world’s second most-watched team in 2020.
“In addition to revenues from esports, we deliver content and activations for brands like AMD, BMW, Gucci, Hi-Sense and Monster. Uniquely among tier 1 teams, we make award-winning performance equipment, sold directly to the consumer and through select retailers globally (+50% order growth YOY). These 3 revenue pillars mean diversified and defensible revenues. Each can scale significantly as esports matures.”
Fnatic also claimed it ranks among the most successful esports brands of all time, winning more Tier 1 trophies than any other team.
“Laser-focused on advancing gamer performance, Fnatic creates award-winning esports products, compelling partner content and activations, and superstar players.”
Fnatic also noted that the investments from the Crowdcube crowd will go to “realize” the next level of esports performance by funding its performance team, products, academics, facilities. The company is now offering 1.65% in equity at a £100 million pre-money valuation through the campaign, which will close later this week.
