Mission Driven Zinc Looks to Raise £33 Million on Seedrs for Venture Fund

Zinc, a mission-driven venture group, is looking to raise £33 million and it is raising funding on Seedrs.

According to the offering page, Zinc has raised £26.75 million from 114 investors with more than a month left in the offering.

Zinc is a venture group that focuses on 4 different areas:

  • mental health
  • the impact of automation & globalisation
  • quality of later life
  • the environment

The firm operates a venture-building program that brings together individuals to build new ventures from scratch. Zinc takes equity in each venture that they support while both funding and support. The venture builder program is accepting applications now.

This specific offering is for the Zinc II fund that aims to back 490 founders to build new mission-driven ventures. Zinc expects to invest in 105 of these new ventures with pre-seed investment and perhaps a follow-on investment.

The fund targets a return of three to four times but like any other venture offering, it is high risk.

The offering page shares that since 2017, Zinc has backed 150 founders that build 30+ firms generating a seven times return for investors.

If you are interested, the offering requires a £500 minimum investment.
